VERSION 1.0 · EFFECTIVE 12 SEPTEMBER 2026
Terms of Service
Rules for using rigtask.com and the contributor portal. The independent-contractor relationship is a separate agreement you accept before the first payable hour.

1. The service
Rigtask is a certified task network. Individual contributors and partner shops in India take defined desk or field packs that have been compiled from a client specification. You see a short brief. You do not see the raw client document, the client brand, or other suppliers.
The portal is the control plane: identity, certification, audiences, claim, review pointers, T+1 reconciliation, ledger, weekly IC payout, partner invoice. Capture and annotation happen in a separate client work platform. Slack is a notice surface, not the product.
Deploy8 is a separate company. Robotics labs contract Deploy8. You contract Rigtask. You will not be introduced as a Deploy8 employee, intern, or team member.
2. Eligibility
You are 18 or older.
You can contract in India. If you join through a partner shop, that shop must have a live membership for you.
You pass the paid certification for the protocol you want to work.
One natural person, one Person record. A person may have only one active contributor membership at a time unless we say otherwise in writing.
You will not apply from a country we have not opened. The current product is India-first.
3. Accounts
You must give true apply data (name, city, track, device, payout rail). KYC lite is required before the first payout. We may pause or refuse an account that fails KYC, fails cert, or looks like a duplicate.
You keep credentials to yourself. Everything done on the account is yours unless you tell us it was taken over and we agree.
We may create your counterpart account on the client work platform after you pass cert, and invite you to the announcement Slack. Those tools have their own terms. Losing access there can block work here.
4. What the work is — and is not
Field packs require kit custody, site permission, and subject consent. “Record the work you already know” is the offer. “Become a creator” and “film strangers in the street” are not.
5. Claiming, submitting, quality
You only see packs whose audience includes you (all-certified, a group, or your org).
A claim reserves the pack. It does not move remaining hours and it does not create pay.
Combo-caps and mix-caps are software. If the cap is hit, you cannot claim a second slice in that combination.
You submit a pointer to work that lives on the client work platform, plus any required artefact (consent copy, serial, checklist).
Internal review can pass, rework, or reject with reason codes. Client T+1 accept writes payable and decrements remaining hours. T+1 reject writes zero.
Quality attaches to you as a person. If your score sits below floor for three packs you are paused and drop off claim lists. Recertification is the path back. An organisation cannot mark a failed person “certified internally.”
One assignment has exactly one payee. You and your organisation are never both paid for the same accepted minute.
6. Money
Rates are on the pack or the partner schedule, not in a public salary number. A marketing figure is not a term of this contract.
IC payout is generated from payable, non-held balances on a weekly cut and sent as a UPI or bank file. Partner shops are paid on a GST invoice, not through the IC file. Holds apply automatically where the ruleset says so (dispute, missing artefact, pause).
You are responsible for your own tax. We deduct TDS as required under the Income-tax Act, 1961. We do not run PF, ESI, or gratuity on contributor payouts.
7. Acceptable use
You will not:
Share client identity, raw specifications, media, or other suppliers’ names outside the people who already have a right to see them. A confirmed leak suspends the person and, if it came from a shop, the organisation.
Submit near-duplicate footage, synthetic stand-ins, or work you did not do.
Film a site you cannot enter, a person who said no, or a child.
Scrape the task tree, resell packs, or run a grey-market bench on a personal account.
Game quality, combo-caps, or source bonuses.
Use the marks “Deploy8” or a client name on LinkedIn, a résumé, or an ad as if they employed you.
Upload malware, scrape other users, or attack the service.
8. Intellectual property
The portal, briefs, compilation tooling, and Rigtask marks are ours or our licensors’. Pack briefs are licensed to you only to perform that pack.
Work product you produce under a pack — footage, narration, labels, metadata, checklists — is assigned on creation to Rigtask or its designee, typically so Deploy8 can licence the dataset. The Contributor Agreement states this in operational language. If you cannot assign, do not claim the pack.
Feedback you send about the product may be used without payment.
9. Partner shops
An organisation cannot take volume packs while it is an applicant. Pilot rules, org-share caps, and the partner cockpit limits (no client brand, no other suppliers, no IC payout file) are part of these terms for every org user. The commercial relationship sits in the MSA. The data relationship sits in the Partner DPA.
10. Suspension and closure
We may pause, ban, or close an account, and we may suspend an organisation, where the quality policy, a leak, a KYC failure, unpaid recovery, or a legal demand requires it. In-flight assignments may still settle. Payable balances owed to you are paid on the next eligible cut unless a hold or set-off applies.
You may close your account from settings or by writing to privacy@rigtask.com. Closure does not erase tax records or licensed work product.
11. Availability
We aim to keep the portal up. We do not promise uninterrupted access, and we do not promise that a pack you saw this morning will still be claimable tonight — remaining hours move when work is accepted.
12. Disclaimers and liability
The service is provided as available. To the extent Indian law allows, Rigtask is not liable for lost profits, lost packs, or indirect loss. Our aggregate liability to you under these Terms in a calendar year is capped at the amount we paid you in the preceding 90 days, except for fraud, death or personal injury caused by negligence, or liability that cannot be limited.
Nothing in these Terms limits a Data Principal right under the DPDP Act.
13. Indemnity
You will indemnify Rigtask and Deploy8 against claims that arise from your footage (missing consent, trespass, IP you did not own), a leak you caused, or tax you should have paid.
14. Changes
We may update these Terms. Material changes will be posted at https://rigtask.com/legal/terms and, where they affect a signed Contributor Agreement, handled as an amendment of that agreement. If we change the documents you accepted at login, we will ask you to agree again before you continue.
15. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of India. Courts at the city where the Company’s registered office is situated have exclusive jurisdiction, subject to the grievance path and any mandatory forum the DPDP Act creates.
